My name is Esteban Rodriguez. I’m a technical artist and I have rigging birds for the past couple of months.
When I first started Rigging Birds I do node by node and I can tell you that the feathers were extremely time-consuming. ! You must create a lot of groups over hierarchy and you can lose control of the order fast. So I was struggling to deliver my wings cleanly.
What I noticed was there were simple repetitive button clicks and commonly repetitive clicks to rig all these feathers. it was a lot of the same. So this was the time when I realize that is was going to be faster to create a system that allows me to automate every single feather.
That’s the origin of the rigging system for wings. It’s a module that we combine to create all the required feathers. It’s ultra-flexible in the number of individual elements so it fits every single type of wing.
