the wait is over and here is the fully functional Whitespike Queen RIG inspired by the Tomorrow War,
Since I loved the movie and creatures so much I decided to do my own version of it, It is a mixed concept based on the amazing work done by WETA digital for the movie, the amazing KENBARTHELMEY and my own interpretation,
I started this project as a fun free-time sculpt and pushed it very far, It went through so many iterations but it was worth it
I’m responsible for Model, Texture, Lookdev, Lighting and the RIG and animation is done by my amazing friend Mrinal Soni,
he’s an amazing creature animator and did an amazing job with this creature as well.
The rig was done using Advanced Skeleton with some custom things added on top and the tentacle rig was done using Universal Ribbon Script for Maya by Nacho Zorilla: https://nachorigs.gumroad.com/l/Ribbon_Nacho?layout=profile&recommended_by=library
*The RIG comes with a low-res/mid-res model with high-res details baked into it
*It also includes 40 UDIMS of full textures including;
*32bit Zbrush and Mari displacements
*normal1 and 2 with a complete shader for Redhisft-Maya
*The RIG is compatible with Maya 2022 or higher
*Make sure to turn off Delta mush and tension deformer switches while animating for better performance
*I used displacement/normal maps from the zbrush folder, displacement/sss maps in mari folder are supporting maps and you can use them for an extra level of detail if required 🙂
I have attached a text file as well for lookdev/shader info based on Redshift in maya,
